Oklahoma City -- "Horse Show Capital of the World" -- retains the spirit of pioneers settling this city of cowboy culture, providing an adventure-packed mix of attractions, events, restaurants and amenities. Hosting more major horse shows than anywhere else, Oklahoma City's State Fair Park is always filled with horse trailers by the score. Equine events, along with the Spring Festival of the Arts, bi-annual Affair of the Heart, and annual State Fair of Oklahoma bring together food, entertainment, and rousing good times. Downtown Oklahoma City includes Crystal Bridge, part of the Myriad Gardens Botanical Conservatory. Other top attractions include the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, Remington Park Race Track, Stockyards City, Frontier City Theme Park, and the Red Earth Indian Center. North of downtown, Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, with its 168 empty chairs, salutes victims of the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. West of downtown with cowboy specialty shops and cowboy art galleries, Stockyards City is home to the world's largest stocker / feeder livestock market, with ranchers bringing cattle for auction before heading over to chow down at Cattlemen's Steakhouse, the city's oldest restaurant.

For family fun, Oklahoma City's Adventure District includes the Omniplex, seven museums and numerous galleries under one roof including the Science Museum, Air Space Museum, and International Photography Hall of Fame. Also in the adventure district: Frontier City, a western-style theme park and the 110-acre Oklahoma City Zoo. Oklahoma cultural fare ranges from concerts at the Ford Center, Civic Center Music Hall, or Zoo Amphitheatre, to the Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestra, Ballet Oklahoma, and Broadway shows at Lyric Theatre. Lakes, parks, championship golf courses and top notch tennis facilities also await, along with excitement from the NBA New Orleans / Oklahoma City Hornets, the Oklahoma Red Hawks, and Blazers professional ice hockey. Oklahoma City accommodations include more than 12,000 hotel rooms for business and leisure.
